We are delighted to bring you our Irish wool Lumra work kit created using natural coloured carded white wool from our rare breed Roscommon Sheep and natural coloured wool from local farms. Lumra is an old Irish wool craft that uses the locker hooking method to secure carded wool in rug canvas. This craft began in Ireland in the early 1900s and the name Lumra is derived from the Irish word for fleece “lomra”. In your kit you will find a graph pattern, thread, locker hooking needle, canvas, a sewing needle and the required amount of carded fibre to complete a stocking front.
